About Arden Brass

Arden Brass is a Midlands based group of professional musicians and educators.

the quintet In their playing careers the members of the group can count amongst their extensive experience engagements with the CBSO, Welsh National Opera, the Virtuosi of London, the London Schubert Players, the London Festival Ballet, D'Oyly Carte, Orchestra Da Camera, the Orchestra of the Swan, the Tongue and Groove Big Band the English Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Graff Orchestra of England, the London Festival Orchestra and Welsh Touring Opera to name many; and even backing for Sting, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Elton John.

Most of the group have known each other for 25 years or more (no-one wants to count it accurately!) but despite this long shared history, Arden Brass only first came together as a quintet in 2005; since then they have enjoyed playing together for many occasions: weddings, garden parties, choral concerts, college graduations, carol services and educational recitals and workshops.

The group's repertoire is as eclectic as their characters, ranging from the high-brow and serious to the downright frivolous, encompassing the Renaissance grandeur of Gabrielli, the Baroque splendour of Bach and Handel, through Dixieland, Ragtime and Big Band Swing to the best brass music of the present day.
